I know I should have given a heads up much earlier; however, I was sunning myself silly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Rinsed is back after their Museum of Artificial History Party for another warehouse dance event.
The waterfront location is allegedly secret, but on the flyer there seems to be one at the bottom. I would definitely check into that before going.
Here’s what I found on the Facebook page:
“691 Colombia St Brooklyn NY 11231. Smith St. F/G Stop. Shuttles running from train or 15-20 minute walk.”
I’ve been to a couple Rinsed parties thanks to one of my friends who’s pretty plugged into the dance scene. The parties are usually in Brooklyn, but they sometimes surface at Le Bain in Manhattan as well as on the Circle Line boat.
As for the music, it’s a fantastic blend of house, disco, funk and R&B with some pretty experimental stuff. I’m a big house fan, but there’s always something there for everyone. The best bit about these parties is that they’re all different in terms of themes and DJs.
Spirikal’s useful tips:
- Buy your tickets early. With some exceptions such as the parties at Le Bain, they usually are sold in three to four tiers with first being the cheapest. Be aware that the prices hike as the event draws nearer. Unfortunately first and second tier tix have already sold out.
- The location is announced the day of usually by text or E-mail.
- Dress code: Remember this is a dance party so you don’t have to treat this like you’re at a wedding. Stylish, fly, fun and comfortable are the basic guidelines you should follow.
- Bring cash for drinks. Paying with credit card or starting a tab may be risky because you can easily lose track of your card or have to pay a minimum fee.
